Growing Our Team to Meet Demand for Underbody Protection

Two new team members join Shropshire Mechanical Services as we increase our underbody protection capacity

August has been an exciting month at Shropshire Mechanical Services, as we’ve welcomed two new members of staff to the team – Anthony (Tony) Garrod and Callum Goodfellow.

The expansion comes as we continue to develop our specialist Underbody Protection service and increase the number of vehicles we can accommodate each week.

With Tony and Callum now on board, we have increased our capacity to carry out up to four complete Underbody Protection packages per week.

Meet Tony

Anthony (Tony) Garrod joins us with an impressive engineering background, having previously worked as an aircraft engineer.

His experience brings another level of technical knowledge, attention to detail and methodical working to the workshop – qualities that are particularly valuable when carrying out the extensive preparation required for professional corrosion protection.

Our underbody treatments involve considerably more than simply applying underseal. Vehicles require careful stripping, inspection, cleaning, corrosion preparation, masking, cavity protection and application, so having another experienced pair of engineering hands is a major addition to the team.

Meet Callum

We’re also pleased to welcome Callum Goodfellow, who joins us after completing his Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance.

Callum brings current technical training and plenty of enthusiasm to the workshop, and will be working alongside the rest of our team across vehicle maintenance, repairs and our growing underbody protection operation.

We’re looking forward to helping him continue developing his skills and experience in a busy working workshop.

Increasing Our Underbody Protection Capacity

Demand for our professional corrosion protection treatments has continued to grow, particularly following our accreditation as a Dinitrol Approved Application Centre.

One of our biggest priorities has therefore been increasing capacity without compromising the preparation or workmanship that goes into each vehicle.

With our expanded team, we’re now able to schedule four Underbody Protection packages each week, allowing us to process vehicles more efficiently while maintaining the standards our customers expect.

Shorter Waiting Times & A More Streamlined Process

The additional staff aren’t simply about taking on more work.

They allow us to better divide the different stages of each treatment between the team, helping us create a more streamlined workshop process from arrival through to completion.

That means better workflow, improved efficiency and, importantly, shorter waiting times for our customers.

As our Underbody Protection service continues to grow, we’re investing in the people, equipment and processes required to grow with it.

Investing in the Future

Welcoming Tony and Callum represents another important step forward for Shropshire Mechanical Services.

We want to continue building a workshop known not only for professional underbody protection, but for the quality of our preparation, attention to detail and customer service.

With a larger team, increased weekly capacity and our status as a Dinitrol Approved Application Centre, we’re in an even stronger position to protect more vehicles against corrosion while reducing the time customers have to wait for an appointment.

Welcome to the team, Tony and Callum!
